We talked to Saul Walker at BBC Gardeners’ World Live about our hand made traditional flagstones and the best outdoor plants to match them with.

One of the Plant Experts at the show, Saul was kind enough to make some planting recommendations to complement our HĂȘnslate flags, Yorkstone paving and Old Provence terracotta tiles.

Huge thanks to Saul for his time and knowledge.

We’ve got more blogs from this year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Live event, including a Show Gardens review and a tour of the Floral Marquee.

SAUL’S RECOMMENDATIONS

For HENSLATE PAVING plant…

Complement the grey and blue hues of this hand made slate paving by planting lush evergreens such as Skimmia, with their lush scent, deep greens and red berries in autumn.

For YORKSTONE PAVING plant…

Balance the soft cream tones of Yorkstone with classic purples & yellows. Salvia Caradonna (woodland sage) and Eryngium (sea holly) are both great examples.
